Based largely on found footage and voice over, both Kirchenbauer and Friedrich’s works immerse the viewer into processes of autobiographical fragmentary construction. - We are reminded that to have power over one’s own narratives can be a somewhat utopian exercise that is often taken for granted – be it in in the midst of the traditional family structure, or within the medical systems of gatekeeping and categorization.
