Zu Gast: Oleg Tcherny – Shades can Blur

"Back unsay shades can go. Go and come again. No. Shades cannot go. Much less come again. Nor bowed old woman's back. Nor old man and child. Nor foreskull and and stare. Blur yes. Shades can blur. When stare clamped to one alone. Or somehow words again. Go no nor come again. Till dim if ever go. Never to come again." (from Worstward Ho by Samuel Beckett)

100 min | 2014 | ProResHQ-file (HDcam) | stereo | OFen-fr-it (UTen) | FR/US

Oleg Tcherny (*1971 in Minsk) studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and at the Frenoy - Studio national des arts contemporains in France. He lives in Paris, Venice and Princeton. In his work, the movement of filmed images is altered by a method of ‘vertical’ editing. Produced in HD, his videos probe the thickness of time, to the limits of visual, acoustic and conceptual abstraction.
